I don't have
to worry about HIV because I'm straight:
Anyone (gay, straight or bisexual) who has unprotected
vaginal, anal or oral intercourse without condoms
is at risk for HIV.
It's safe if you pull out:
Pre-cum comes out of the penis before ejaculation,
so you can become pregnant or infected even if you
pull out.
Someone is probably "clean" if they have good
hygiene and no visible sores:
You can't tell if someone had HIV by the way they look.
It's safe for my partner and me to have unprotected sex
because we're monogamous:
Even if your partner is honest with you, you're still being exposed
to every other person they have been with before you. It's important
to get tested. Your partner may be infected and not know it. Then
there is also the issue of pregnancy, which can only be avoided
with the use of birth control such as the pill or condoms.
It's dangerous to touch someone with HIV:
You can't get HIV through casual contact such as kissing, hugging,
sharing a fork or spoon, sitting on the same toilet seat or shaking
hands.
. I'm on birth control pills so I'm safe:
The pill is 98% effective at preventing pregnancy, but only condoms
can protect you from HIV or other sexually transmitted diseases.. |
