How the design process works.
The first step is the most important. VSI will spend time understanding a company, market segment and clientele;
identifying specific preferences for the logo; and summarizing the message or identity needed.
After the initial meeting with the client, brainstorming takes the form of an exhaustive series of thumbnail sketches. These are played with, tweaked, combined and discarded.
We then select three representations that best meet the specifications. The client may either pick a final design from these, refine or springboard into a second round of brainstorming.
Once a design is approved, color scheme is discussed. (A logo should look good in black and white as well as in color.) A computer graphic will be generated in black and white and full color for final approval.
When a logo is finalized the client specifies the file format(s).
The most common formats include:

Eps
Vector image. An image can be resized with
out losing image quality. Suitable for print, this file type can also be edited
in case you ever need to revise your logo.

jpg and gif
Used for the internet. Smaller file size than print images. Jpeg is good for photos or images with gradients. Gifs are smaller in file size than jpg and recommended for flat color images.

tif
Multiple uses. A tif can be any resolution but doesn’t have the scaling capabilities of an eps.
